The Workout (1 Timothy 4:7-8)

Training to keep fit is needed daily. And it’s great when you get into a routine and rhythm because it helps to keep up the exercise regime. The more you do, the better it is and the easier it becomes.

There’s a little passage in the Bible that talks about exercise. The Apostle Paul said that “bodily training is of some value” (1 Timothy 4:7-8) and he is contrasting it with something that is better because “it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come”. He’s talking about training yourself in “godliness”, which can help you navigate through your day-to-day existence now but will also lead you to eternal life to come!

Whilst a good workout everyday helps you physically, a spiritual exercise routine is of immeasurable value to help you mature and become more godly. That’s Bible training that is well worth doing and it’s the reason why Bible Feed is here to help.
